FURNITURE BY LINA NORDQVIST DESIGN 

Lina Nordqvist work as an independent designer with a main focus on furniture and exhibition design. She has a background as a professional production designer in the scandinavian film industry, as well as a recent degree from Beckmans College of Design, Stockholm, Sweden.

Lina Nordqvist won the Accent on Design Award in New York 2009 and she was also awared with Swedish Elle Decoration’s Design Design Award in 2010.

In February 2011 L.N.D. presented a new collection of furniture as part of the Greenhouse exhibition of work by young designers at Stockholm Furniture Fair, as well as on the Salone Satellite exhibition at Milan Furniture Fair the 12th - 17th april 2011.

«Se solo gli oggetti potessero avere occhi per guardare, memoria per conservare, ma soprattutto voce per raccontare… perso in questi pensieri mi rendo sempre più conto di quanto fragile sia la mente umana, soggiogata da una curiosità morbosa e nello stesso tempo, succube di quello stesso istinto, fino quasi alla follia. il mio design è fuggire. fuggire da tutto questo, rassegnarsi a non capire, a non sapere, a non soddisfare i propri istinti. il mio design è un funerale. con stucchi e vernici cerco di coprire, per quanto possibile, il passato degli oggetti, di seppellirli sotto uno strato glamour e kitsch».  «if only had the used things eyes to see, memory to keep, and especially voice to speak… lost in my thoughts i realize how frail the human mind is, subjected to a morbid curiosity and at the same time totally dominated by that proper instinct that drives us to madness. escaping is my design. escaping from all this, resignation to not understanding, not knowing, not satisfying our own instincts. my design is a funeral. with stuccos, waxes and paints i try to cover, as long as possible, the past of the objects, burying them under a layer of glamour and kitsch» Luca Scarpellini

Jannis Ellenberger

Ellenbergerdesign

Jannis ellenberger was born in 1974 in kassel, germany. first he served an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker to finally continue his studies at the akademy of design in münster. in 2006 he established a studio for product- and interiordesign in bremen, which is mainly working on designs of furniture and accessoires and has been colaborating with several national and international companies since. last year he successfully exhibited at milan furniture fair presenting the first collection of private space furniture such as washstand and bed as seen on the picture above. this year’s third and last participation in salone satellite will show extension of the “private space collection” next to led lighting project.
